Giving Directions-Map Activity

Do you remember Scholastic Book Sale? At that time I purchased some E-books in advanced. (I try to be proactive;) Now, Eaton is a little bit older and ready for some of them.
This activity is from the book called: "Marvelous Map Activities For Young Learners". You can wait for another $1 deal from their website, this happen pretty often, or you can visit Amazon. The whole book is black and white. I printed out the map on 2 yellow pages and some of the buildings and roads I colored with crayons . There are cards you need to read and give direction to how to go from one place to another. There also are diagonal roads that make activity more interesting. I add some mini cars to that play and it seems Eaton likes it. I was told that Visual Spatial Learners have the ability to read maps and directions very easy, that's why I added that game to see how he feels about it. It looks like he doesn't have to be in a driver position in order to give direction to someone. He is good at giving directions  but what about getting auditory direction from someone? That would be an idea for another activity!!
You can add Compass Ross activity from Print Shop for free!
Have a great weekend!
